If you love chicken and waffles, be sure to mark your calendars.

On Saturday, Aug. 8, the Metro Diner locations in Langhorne and Bensalem will be celebrating the 8th anniversary of National Fried Chicken & Waffle Day by giving guests the chance to win one of its most iconic menu items for an entire year. The local drawing is part of a nationwide celebration in honor of the holiday's 8th anniversary on 8/8.

Chicken and Waffle Day was created by Metro Diner to celebrate one of America's favorite comfort food combinations.

"Chicken and Waffles are not just another menu item, it has become synonymous with our brand," said Jeff Schifrin, joint venture partner for Metro Diner. "It celebrates one of America's favorite comfort food combinations."

Metro Diner's award-winning Fried Chicken & Waffles has become one of their most popular and beloved dishes. It features crispy fried chicken served alongside a Belgian waffle, topped with powdered sugar, their famous strawberry butter, and the diner's signature sweet-and-savory sauce.

Anyone who dines at Metro Diner in the Bensalem or Langhorne locations and purchases the fried chicken and waffles will receive an entry form that they can drop in a designated bowl before leaving.  One lucky winner from each location will receive free fried chicken and waffles for a year.

"Chicken and Waffle Day is all about celebrating with the communities  that have supported  Metro Diner for so many years," added Schifrin. "The moment guests walk through the doors, they will be part of the celebration."

Both teams in Bensalem and Langhorne will be celebrating with fun in-store displays and are inviting guests to  join in the excitement throughout the day.
