While the calendar turns toward winter, thousands of children in Bucks County experience the holiday season as just another ordinary day. This reality is where the heart of our community shines, and we have a tradition dedicated to changing that narrative by ensuring every child feels the magic of the holidays.
The movement began in 1947 when Diane Hendricks, wife of Marine Major Bill Hendricks, created handcrafted dolls she hoped to donate. With no organization available to accept them, the couple founded the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a mission later supported by Walt Disney, whose artwork still inspires the iconic logo.
But the story that matters most is the one unfolding locally. The Bucks County Toys for Tots chapter represents true community solidarity, powered by more than three dozen volunteers and 325 generous area businesses. Last year, their coordinated efforts delivered 32,094 toys to 6,972 children, creating nearly 7,000 smiles and demonstrating the strength of neighbors helping neighbors.
For almost two decades, Kenderdine’s Heating Oil & HVAC has proudly contributed to this tradition. Our involvement is driven by our employees, their families, and loyal customers. Together, we have donated thousands of toys because we believe every child deserves the dignity and excitement of opening a new gift during the holidays. Your participation directly strengthens our shared mission to support families across the county.
This year, we invite you to join us in spreading joy. Every new, unwrapped toy or cash contribution truly makes a difference. You can be the reason a child experiences the season’s wonder. Donations can be dropped off at our Newtown locations, 500 S. State St. or 507 S. State St., or handed to any employee during a service visit or delivery. Please note that the drive concludes on December 11.
