Support for seniors: SHARE housing & cancer care transportation

Posted

The Ivins Outreach Center, in partnership with the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, is proud to offer two essential programs to support older adults in Bucks County—SHARE Housing and Resource Exchange and the Cancer Care Transportation Program.

SHARE Housing and Resource Exchange:

SHARE connects homeowners or renters who have extra space with individuals seeking affordable housing. In exchange for rent, help around the house, or a combination of both, this program promotes financial relief, companionship, and shared responsibility.

To qualify, participants must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Willing to provide references

Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, SHARE helps reduce living expenses while creating meaningful connections in the community.

For more information, contact SHARE Counselor Kim Pattley at 267-351-1855 or c-kapattley@buckscounty.org, or call the Ivins Outreach Center at 215-428-0500.

Cancer Care Transportation Program:

This free program supports residents aged 55+ in Lower Bucks County who are undergoing cancer treatment. We provide safe, reliable transportation to medical appointments—including chemotherapy, radiation, and dialysis—so that no senior has to miss care due to lack of a ride.

Volunteers are vital to this effort. Drivers use their own vehicles and must pass a background check and driving record review. Volunteering just a few hours a month can make a life-changing difference for someone in need.

To volunteer or request transportation, contact Meredith Merrill at meredith.cancercare@gmail.com.

These programs reflect the Ivins Outreach Center’s mission to provide compassionate, practical support that helps older adults live with dignity and connection. Visit www.ivinsoutreach.org or call 215-428-0500 for more details.
